Chico Harlan from the Washington Post wrote a great article today on Kory Casto. It’s one of the human interest pieces, so if you’re looking for OPS or VORP, don’t follow it. But otherwise, I definitely recommend reading it. It’s nice to remember there are people playing, especially when it’s so easy to say “this guy sucks” or “so and so shouldn’t be in the majors.” Not that we, as fans, should stop assessing these players and trying to figure out what is best for the team. But we should always do it with the knowledge that these are lives and livelihoods were are talking about. Best of luck to Kory Casto, whether or not he makes the squad, and anyone else who gets tossed around or aside.
