About

Welcome to The Nationals Review, a Washington Nationals blog. My name is Charlie Fliegel, and I’m just a guy writing about the team. I do this for fun, and I started this in 2007 when I was living in New York, there weren’t a ton of Nats blogs, and I wasn’t able to easily follow the team. I’m not a reporter, have almost no access and I am specifically writing as a fan. I’m not a real sabermetrician either, although I’m closer to that than a reporter.

Please feel free to post comments or e-mail me at nationalsreview@gmail.com. All comments and criticisms are welcome. Thanks for stopping by The Nats Review.

  1. I’ve been reading your blog for a while now – I really enjoy it. My youngest just went off to college, and I finally have free time again. For fun, over the holiday break I downloaded all of the PitchFX data from MLB.com, and stored it in a database on my Mac. I started a new blog call NatsStats (natsstats.wordpress.com). I put a link to Nationals Review on the site.

The blog isn’t going to become a geekfest – I’m hoping to use the data to shed some light on Nats Baseball. I know your site has a stats emphasis as well. If you ever have any SABR type questions regarding the Nats, feel free to reach out. I’ll do my best to get you an answer.

  2. Charlie –
Thanks so much for your kind words in the blog and at the stadium last week. I enjoyed reading your blog, and I hope to see you at the stadium again. My best to your wife –
