Predictions for the Rest of the League

The last 3 non-TV-related posts have been all the NL East you can eat. However, we shouldn’t completely ignore the rest of the league. The frightening, non-NL East part. Here’s some predictions for them, and we’ll finish it out with specific Nat’s predictions.

AL PLAYOFFS

AL East: New York Yankees
AL Central: Cleveland Indians
AL West: Oakland A’s
AL WC: Boston Red Sox
ALCS: Yankees vs. A’s

NL PLAYOFFS

NL East: Mets
NL Central: Cubs
NL West: Diamondbacks
NL WC: Dodgers
NLDS: Cubs vs. Mets

WORLD SERIES

Yankees vs. Cubs

I think the Cubs finally do make it, and actually win.

MVP AWARD

AL: Grady Sizemore
NL: David Wright

CY YOUNG AWARD

AL: CC Sabathia
NL: Brandon Webb

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

AL: David Price
NL: Cameron Maybin

MANAGER OF THE YEAR

BEST BETS

These are the teams that, in my opinion have the highest payouts on betus.com, coupled with PECOTA liking them to possibly make the playoffs. And you know, if a team makes the playoffs, it’s a crapshoot, especially the 5 game series. (PECOTA wins, World Series Payouts, Pennant Winner Payouts):

Oakland A’s (84, 35-1, 16-1)
Milwaukee Brewers (84, 45-1, 20-1)

RECORDS

MLB Best Record: New York Yankees
MLB Worst Record: Seattle Mariners
Nats Final Record: 77-85

NATIONALS’ STATS:

Most Wins: Olsen
Most Ks: Zimmermann
Most BBs: Cabrera
Best ERA: Beimel
Most HRs: Dunn
Most SBs: Milledge
Most HRs + SBs: Dukes
Highest AVG: Guzman
Highest OBP: Dukes
Highest VORP: Zimmerman

What’s VORP?

  1. The A’s? The A’s? Seriously? wow…thats aggressive.

I gotta go with the Angels here. Sleeper player of the year is Kendry Morales. With Wood and Morales coming into the lineup out in LAA, I dont think they will miss Tex’s bat at all.

Gotta go with the Yankees not making the playoffs…and I am not saying that because of my hatred for them. CC is an ace but I dont think he alone will help the Yankees. Their lineup isnt as scary as one may think.

Bold Prediction: Cincinnati Reds will win the WC in the NL.
